Ex-presso Breakup!

A Group Therapy Space for Working Through Breakups

Breakups suck. They’re confusing, overwhelming, and often isolating. Especially when you’re juggling work, life, and the pressure to “move on” quickly. Ex-presso Breakup is a five-week online group therapy experience designed for adults who want a no-nonsense, structured, and reflective space to process their breakup.

This is not a ‘how to move on in 5 steps’ program.

It’s for people who want to understand what just happened, what it meant to them, and how they want to move forward—with clarity, not clichés.

Try our self-assessment here to know how you’re doing with your breakup!

What to Expect

A blend of Cinema Therapy + evidence-based techniques

    • Films have a way of helping us see ourselves. We’ll use characters, and story arcs as mirrors—paired with evidence-based tools—to untangle thoughts, patterns, and reactions.

Not just talk. Activities too.

    • Worksheets, guided prompts, and group discussions to help you engage at your own pace—whether you’re someone who reflects quietly or prefers to share.

Structured but flexible.

    • Each session is planned with a theme and objective. You can participate as actively or reflectively as feels right for you.

Is This Group for You?

You’re probably a good fit if:

    • Your breakup was of a dating relationship (not a marriage or engagement).
    • You have access to stable internet.
    • You’re willing to reflect—whether through sharing or through solo activities.
    • You’re not in an acute crisis (e.g. severe depression, current suicidal thoughts).
    • You’re fluent in English (All our sessions have two movie options – one English and one Hindi.)
    • You’re curious about your own emotions and want to make sense of your breakup.

What You’ll Work On

    • Making sense of emotional chaos
    • Identifying what the breakup brings up about you (identity, values, boundaries)
    • Building tools to regulate distress
    • Learning from fictional characters and real peers
    • Rebuilding inner stability and self-trust
