Why I Became A Therapist

My journey into psychology began with a deep curiosity about the ways people think, feel, and grow. Early on, I noticed how the environments we live in—our families, schools, and communities—shape us in ways both subtle and profound. I wanted to understand resilience, why some people bend while others break, and how we can foster healing even in the face of life’s hardest moments. That curiosity led me to the world of therapy, where I found not just answers but new questions—questions that continue to expand my understanding of human behaviour every day.

My Approach as a Therapist

I believe therapy is not about “fixing” but about uncovering—peeling back the layers of self-doubt, fear, and past experiences to reveal a deeper, more authentic sense of self. My approach is person-centred and eclectic, drawing from narrative therapy, gestalt therapy, and humanistic psychology. I integrate deep listening, Socratic questioning, and guided exploration to help clients heal their inner child, build self-compassion, and practice forgiveness. Above all, I provide a space that is safe and non-judgmental, where individuals can reflect, process, and grow at their own pace.

Lived Experience & My Therapy Philosophy

Every day, I discover new potentials of human behaviour—some I never knew existed. The depth of human resilience, the capacity for change, and the ability to redefine one’s story continue to amaze me. I hold close the words of Immanuel Kant:
“Two things fill the mind with ever new and increasing admiration and awe, the oftener and more steadily we reflect on them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me.”

There is something profoundly moving about our inner worlds—the way we search for meaning, navigate relationships, and make sense of our pain. Therapy, to me, is the process of illuminating that inner universe, helping individuals see themselves with clarity, compassion, and the possibility of transformation.
