Why I Became A Therapist

I was always a curious child – from asking incessant questions to my parents about how things work and why they work that particular way, to finding my own answers if I did not find the given answers satisfactory. I am still searching for an answer to my many “why’s” – now it is also regarding human behaviour and mental processes.
Humans are inherently complex and have a deep desire to be seen, heard, and acknowledged; to witness someone’s growth and progress, and to be allowed to enter the client’s world is a great responsibility and honor. We all deserve to be witnessed and accepted.

My Approach as a Therapist

I believe in meeting you exactly where you are in your journey and walking alongside you as you grow and heal. My approach to therapy is rooted in Person-Centered and Psychodynamic theories, while also drawing from Family and Couple Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Trauma-Focused perspectives.
I see each client as unique, and I believe therapy should be tailored to fit your specific needs and experiences. By combining different techniques, we can work together to better understand your inner world, uncover your strengths, and support you in addressing emotional and behavioral patterns that may be affecting your relationships and day-to-day life. I practice through a trauma-informed, queer-affirming, and systemic lens, always honoring the truth that we are shaped by the communities and cultures we live within.

Lived Experience

Through my own experiences with difficult family dynamics, relationships, and mental health, I’ve come to appreciate the strength it takes to heal and the courage it takes to grow. These parts of my journey have deepened my belief in the human capacity for resilience, compassion, and transformation.
Living in three different countries has given me a personal perspective on what it means to start over — to leave behind the familiar, to face uncertainty, and to build a new sense of belonging. I understand how deeply these transitions can impact mental health, and how important support and understanding are during times of change.
Over the past six years, I have had the honor of working with adolescents, adults, and older adults, helping them navigate everything from adjustment challenges to health anxieties. Each story I encounter reaffirms my belief that with the right support, people can find strength even in the most unexpected places.

My Therapy Philosophy

I strive to offer an understanding, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel truly seen and heard. I believe that each person carries their own deep wisdom and strength, and my role is to help you tap into that as you navigate the challenges in your life.
While I work within the structure of evidence-based practice, I also find that humor can be a subtle but powerful tool. It often helps bridge the gap between therapist and client, eases tension, invites authenticity, and creates space for deeper emotional exploration.
Together, these pieces help create a safe, supportive environment where meaningful growth and positive change can happen. I’m here to walk alongside you, helping you create the life and relationships you deserve with the support and understanding you need.
I am fluent in Marathi, English, and Hindi.
