Talking Distance

Our Story Begins Here, and Continues in You.

The Unseen Struggles of Global Living

Mental health challenges are universal, yet many people struggle to find support that understands their unique cultural and personal experiences.
For many people living abroad—whether as NRIs, immigrants, international students, or professionals—finding therapy that understands both their cultural background and the realities of living in a new country can be difficult. Identity struggles, loneliness, career transitions, and family expectations often make it harder to access the right kind of support.
Even within India, mental health support is still out of reach for many due to stigma, cost, and lack of culturally competent care. As a result, millions of people suffer in silence, feeling disconnected and unsupported.

The Talking Distance Solution

Talking Distance emerged from a simple yet powerful idea: mental health support should never feel out of reach—no matter where you are in the world.

Our name captures our essence—a gentle wordplay on “walking distance.” Just as important destinations should be conveniently nearby, we believe therapy, support, and connection should always feel close—bridging the gaps and making mental health accessible regardless of physical distance.

A Note from Our Founder

I started Talking Distance after spending almost a decade working in mental health across multiple countries, cultures, and communities. Over the years, I noticed that many people who sought therapy from me were living outside their home country—navigating new worlds, relationships, and identities. Some were struggling with homesickness, others with career transitions, and many with the complexities of belonging to multiple cultures at once.

And I realized something: mental health should never feel out of reach. I wanted to create a space where people could access therapy and mental health education that felt relevant, understanding, and truly supportive of their experiences. At Talking Distance, we believe that mental health is always within talking distance. No matter where you are, no matter what you are going through—you are not alone.
